The Essence of Courage
What does courage have to do with being a person of good character, with someone who stays true to their principles and their values ?? The answer is EVERYTHING.
You see, being values-driven means two things. Doing what's right, following our conscience, refusing to compromise our principles, despite pressures and temptations to the contrary and...Taking a stand against what's wrong, speaking out, whenever we see others do things that are incorrect or inappropriate. Unquestionably, both of those require guts and fortitude, they require courage.
Courage is following your conscience instead of following the crowd. Refusing to take part in hurtful or disrespectful behaviors. Sacrificing personal gain for the benefit of others. Speaking your mind even though others don't agree.
Taking complete responsibility for your actions and your mistakes. Following the rules and insisting that others do the same. Challenging the status quo in search of better ways. Doing what you know is right, regardless of the risks and potential consequences.
Make us to choose the harder right instead of the easier wrong and never to be content with a half truth when the whole truth can be won. Endow us with the courage that is born of loyalty to all that is noble and worthy, that scorns to compromise with vice and injustice and knows no fear when truth and right are in jeopardy.... That is truly the essence of courage..

Choose your Color
So you've got a problem?
That's good.
Why ?
Because repeated victories over your problems are the rungs on your ladder to success. With each victory you grow in wisdom, stature and experience. You become a bigger, better, more successful person each time you meet a problem and tackle and conquer it with a positive mental attitude.
Attitude is the mind's paintbrush, it can color a situation gloomy or gray or cheerful, in fact, attitudes are more important than facts.
If you don't like something, change it, if you can't change it, change your attitude, don’t complain.
Our attitudes control our lives. Attitudes are a secret power working twenty-four hours a day, for good or bad it is of paramount importance that we know how to harness and control this great force.
Ability is what you're capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it.
Our success or our failure is the result of our mental condition, our thoughts about people and about ourselves, our attitudes toward people and toward ourselves.
Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the attitude you bring to life, not so much by what happens to you as by the way your mind looks at what happens. Circumstances and situations do color life, but you have been given the mind to choose what the color shall be.

Meaningful Words
1.Sometimes we underestimate the good things we have, chasing after the mirages of false treasures. We often see people letting go of their children, their families, their spouses, their friends, their profession, their knowledge....accumulated over many years. Their good health, the good things in life. Don't throw out so freely, things which were nourished with so much care and effort.
2.Look around, appreciate what you have, your home, your loved ones, friends on whom you can really count, the knowledge you have gained, your good health and all the beautiful things in life, they are truly your most precious treasures. We can no longer shower kindness on those we loved, after their passing....
3.It is useless to want to re-do the work that we may have done negligently. It's best to appreciate and do things well now. Don't let your problems and concerns degenerate into feelings of sadness and anxiety. Provide yourself with the courage needed to be certain of victory in the struggle of life.
4.We are all imperfect. Always praise and value your family, do all you can to make it even better. Always praise and value your co-workers, see what you can do to improve your environment. Instead of isolating yourself, because of weakness or failure, seek to invest in true and constructive friendship in your life. Strengthen your self-esteem in dealing with daily problems.

MARRIAGE
When I got home that night as my wife served dinner, I held her hand and said, I've got something to tell you. She sat down and ate quietly. Again I observed the hurt in her eyes.
Suddenly I didn't know how to open my mouth. But I had to let her know what I was thinking. I want a divorce. I raised the topic calmly.
She didn't seem to be annoyed by my words, instead she asked me softly, why?
I avoided her question. This made her angry. She threw away the chopsticks and shouted at me, you are not a man! That night, we didn't talk to each other. She was weeping. I knew she wanted to find out what had happened to our marriage. But I could hardly give her a satisfactory answer; she had lost my heart to Jane. I didn't love her anymore. I just pitied her!
With a deep sense of guilt, I drafted a divorce agreement which stated that she could own our house, our car, and 30% stake of my company.
She glanced at it and then tore it into pieces. The woman who had spent ten years of her life with me had become a stranger. I felt sorry for her wasted time, resources and energy but I could not take back what I had said for I loved Jane so dearly. Finally she cried loudly in front of me, which was what I had expected to see. To me her cry was actually a kind of release. The idea of divorce which had obsessed me for several weeks seemed to be firmer and clearer now.
The next day, I came back home very late and found her writing something at the table. I didn't have supper but went straight to sleep and fell asleep very fast because I was tired after an eventful day with Jane.
When I woke up, she was still there at the table writing. I just did not care so I turned over and was asleep again.
In the morning she presented her divorce conditions: she didn't want anything from me, but needed a month's notice before the divorce. She requested that in that one month we both struggle to live as normal a life as possible. Her reasons were simple: our son had his exams in a month's time and she didn't want to disrupt him with our broken marriage.
This was agreeable to me. But she had something more, she asked me to recall how I had carried her into out bridal room on our wedding day.
She requested that every day for the month's duration I carry her out of our bedroom to the front door ever morning. I thought she was going crazy. Just to make our last days together bearable I accepted her odd request.
I told Jane about my wife's divorce conditions. . She laughed loudly and thought it was absurd. No matter what tricks she applies, she has to face the divorce, she said scornfully.
My wife and I hadn't had any body contact since my divorce intention was explicitly expressed. So when I carried her out on the first day, we both appeared clumsy. Our son clapped behind us, daddy is holding mommy in his arms. His words brought me a sense of pain. From the bedroom to the sitting room, then to the door, I walked over ten meters with her in my arms. She closed her eyes and said softly; don't tell our son about the divorce. I nodded, feeling somewhat upset. I put her down outside
the door. She went to wait for the bus to work. I drove alone to the office.
On the second day, both of us acted much more easily. She leaned on my chest. I could smell the fragrance of her blouse. I realized that I hadn't looked at this woman carefully for a long time. I realized she was not young any more. There were fine wrinkles on her face, her hair was graying! Our marriage had taken its toll on her. For a minute I wondered what I had done to her.
On the fourth day, when I lifted her up, I felt a sense of intimacy returning. This was the woman who had given ten years of her life to me.
On the fifth and sixth day, I realized that our sense of intimacy was growing again. I didn't tell Jane about this. It became easier to carry her as the month slipped by. Perhaps the everyday workout made me stronger.
She was choosing what to wear one morning. She tried on quite a few dresses but could not find a suitable one. Then she sighed, all my dresses have grown bigger. I suddenly realized that she had grown so thin, that was the reason why I could carry her more easily.
Suddenly it hit me... she had buried so much pain and bitterness in her heart. Subconsciously I reached out and touched her head.
Our son came in at the moment and said, Dad, it's time to carry mom out. To him, seeing his father carrying his mother out had become an essential part of his life. My wife gestured to our son to come closer and hugged him tightly. I turned my face away because I was afraid I might change my mind at this last minute. I then held her in my arms, walking from the bedroom, through the sitting room, to the hallway. Her hand surrounded my neck softly and naturally. I held her body tightly; it was just like our wedding day.
But her much lighter weight made me sad. On the last day, when I held her in my arms I could hardly move a step. Our son had gone to school. I held her tightly and said, I hadn't noticed that our life lacked intimacy.
I drove to office.... jumped out of the car swiftly without locking the door. I was afraid any delay would make me change my mind...I walked upstairs. Jane opened the door and I said to her, Sorry, Jane, I do not want the divorce anymore.
She looked at me, astonished, and then touched my forehead. Do you have a fever? She said. I moved her hand off my head. Sorry, Jane, I said, I won't divorce. My marriage life was boring probably because she and I didn't value the details of our lives, not because we didn't love each other anymore. Now I realize that since I carried her into my home on our wedding day I am supposed to hold her until death do us apart.
Jane seemed to suddenly wake up. She gave me a loud slap and then slammed the door and burst into tears. I walked downstairs and drove away.
At the floral shop on the way, I ordered a bouquet of flowers for my wife. The salesgirl asked me what to write on the card. I smiled and wrote, I'll carry you out every morning until death do us apart.
That evening I arrived home, flowers in my hands, a smile on my face, I run up stairs, only to find my wife in the bed - dead.
My wife had been fighting CANCER for months and I was so busy with Jane to even notice. She knew that she would die soon and she wanted to save me from the whatever negative reaction from our son, in case we push thru with the divorce.-- At least, in the eyes of our son--- I'm a loving husband....
The small details of your lives are what really matter in a relationship. It is not the mansion, the car, property, the money in the bank. These create an environment conducive for happiness but cannot give happiness in themselves. So find time to be your spouse's friend and do those little things for each other that build intimacy. Do have a real happy marriage!

After she left for school in Taipei, everytime she came home, he still insisted on picking her up in his bike. She finally bought a car, and told him to not pick her up. But he still waited for her with his bike.

Hachiko (Hachi): A Dog's Tale
Starring Richard Gere and Joan Allen, 'Hachi: A Dogs Tale' is the heartwarming true story about an unbreakable bond between a University professor and his dog.
Hachiko, the legendary Japanese akita, proves that there is nothing more loyal than man's best friend in this modern retelling of a cherished true story. It all begins when a college professor adopts an abandoned dog named Hachiko. The two form such a strong bond that Hachiko walks with the professor to the train station each morning and returns to the station each evening to walk the professor home again. The routine continues until one day the professor does not return to the train station. Hachiko, however, does not give up. He returns to the same train station at the same time, faithfully waiting for his owner to return. Hachiko does this for more than nine years, until his own death. This heartwarming tale that is already the stuff of legend in Japan is finally making its way to America by way of prominent director Lasse Hallström. With an equally capable cast, the experience of Hachiko's unending loyalty is certain to stay with you. Hachiko's story is one of love, unwavering devotion, and the resounding impact one dogs affection can make.
Through his daily journeys to the station Hachi becomes a regular fixture of the community and an inspiration of love, friendship and unyielding loyalty to everyone who meets him. Hachi's story is a tale for the ages; a dogs faithful devotion to his master exposes the great power of love and how this simplest of acts can become the grandest gesture of all.

Cat gives a cardiac massage to his injured girlfriend
This stray cat was filmed in Turkey( Kızılsaray district of Antalya ) trying to reanimate his female friend who got hit by a car. Even though some people tried to help him, the white cat wouldn't let them come near for two straight hours. Finally a vet arrived and took the injured cat. Sadly, it was too late and he couldn't resuscitate the feline.
Even in the animals' world, there is so much true love. Shall we show them better examples?

Why am I different from others?
Extraordinary Pantene television commercial made in Thailand. It's simply brilliant. The story is about a deaf and mute girl who learns to play the violin against all odds. It's one of the most touching advertisements ever.
Question: Why am I different from others?
Reply: Why do you have to be the same like others?
No matter what happens, life can be beautiful if you persist.

Words from Bill Gates
Bill Gates gave a speech at a High School about 11 things they did not and will not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world.
Some words may be harsh, but he sure hits the nail on the head.
Rule 1: Life is not fair - get used to it!
Rule 2: The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.
Rule 3: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.
Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.
Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity.
Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.
Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.
Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.
Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.
Rule 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.
Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.
To us, we see a beautiful meaning behind all the rules, which is to APPRECIATE. Appreciate whatever you have now and you will find your life more beautiful.

'I want more time'
This is a sad commercial.
I want more time...
Time to tell my son that I love him more than anything.
Time to understand him better.
Listen to his opinions.
To talk to him.
Listen to his songs.
To tell him I'm sorry.
Like I said.
I want more time.
Time to do what I've never done.
To take better care of him.
To love him more.

A very beautiful animation done by a student for the final year project.
The little girl went chasing the bad guy for her prince but she was cursed by a spell and started growing big tummy. In the end, she managed to save her prince, but the prince ran away from her because of her looks.
The graphic is beautifully done up and the simple story is humorous.

Missing Someone..
Soldiers giving surprise to their loved ones
Lyrics for the background song..
The Mile After - Money Is Not A Thing
This won't be easy,
but I have to try.
I'll have to leave in dead winter
and come back in July.
I'll have to sing what I feel
almost every night;
but if this does anything,
and it will, you'll see,
I'm gonna do everything
to put you next to me.
This is keeping me up
so I decided to just give in;
call it a night...
I've run out of different ways
to tell you what I've tried
a million other times.
I doubt that I could leave you
and I still doubt you'd even care;
but how could I lead my life
and always say truth,
but never dare?
I can feel the undertow;
Will it drown me? I dont know...
Don't you see it's you I need
or will you leave me lost at sea?
You'll miss the salt and offshore breeze
and I forgot to mention, me.
I don't think that you should go
I can't stand to be alone...

Love - Katie Kirkapatrick and Nick's Wedding
The girl in the picture is Katie Kirkpatrick, she is 21. Next to her, her fiancé, Nick, 23. The picture was taken shortly before their wedding ceremony, held on January 11, 2005 in the US. Katie has terminal cancer and spend hours a day receiving medication. In the picture, Nick is waiting for her on one of the many sessions of chemo to end.
In spite of all the pain, organ failures, and morphine shots, Katie is going along with her wedding and took care of every detail. The dress had to be adjusted a few times due to her constant weight loss
An unusual accessory at the party was the oxygen tube that Katie used throughout the ceremony and reception as well. The other couple in the picture are Nick's parents. Excited to see their son marrying his high school sweetheart.
Katie, in her wheelchair with the oxygen tube, listening to a song from her husband and friends
At the reception, katie had to take a few rests. The pain did not allow her to stand for long periods
Katie died five days after her wedding day. Watching a woman so ill and weak getting married and with a smile on her face makes us think..... Happiness is reachable, no matter how long it lasts .
We should stop making our lives complicated.
Life is short
Break the rules
forgive quickly
kiss passionately, love truly
laugh constantly
And never stop smiling
no matter how strange life is
Life is not always the party we expected to be
but as long as we are here, we should smile and be grateful

The Burnt Biscuit
Mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then. And I remember one night in particular when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day at work. That evening, mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage and extremely burned biscuits in front of dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed.
All dad did was reach for his biscuit, smiled at mom and asked me how my day was at school. I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that biscuit and ate every bite.
When I got up from the table, I remember hearing mom apologize to dad for burning the biscuits. And I'll never forget what he said: Honey, I love burned biscuits.
Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and asked him if he really liked his biscuits burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said, "Your Momma put in a hard day at work today and she's real tired. And besides - a little burnt biscuit never hurt anyone!"
You know, life is full of imperfect things.....and imperfect people. I'm not the best at hardly anything, and I forget birthdays and anniversaries just like everyone else.
What I've learned over the years is that learning to accept each others' faults - and choosing to celebrate each others differences - is one of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting relationship.
Because in the end, you are the master of your own life - to be happy or unhappy, to be positive or negative.
We could extend this to any relationship. In fact, understanding is the base of any relationship, be it a husband-wife or parent-child or friendship.
Don't put the key to your happiness in someone else's pocket - keep it in your own.
So please pass me a biscuit, and yes, the burnt one will do just fine ...

Who I am makes a difference
A teacher in New York decided to honor each of her seniors in high school by telling them the difference they each made. She called each student to the front of the class, one at a time. First she told each of them how they had made a difference to her and the class.
Then she presented each of them with a blue ribbon imprinted with gold letters, which read, "Who I Am Makes a Difference."
Afterwards the teacher decided to do a class project to see what kind of impact recognition would have on a community. She gave each of the students three more ribbons and instructed them to go out and spread this acknowledgment ceremony. Then they were to follow up on the results, see who honored whom and report back
to the class in about a week.
One of the boys in the class went to a junior executive in a nearby company and honored him for helping him with his career planning. He gave him a blue ribbon and put it on his shirt. Then he gave him two extra ribbons and said, "We're doing a class project on recognition, and we'd like you to go out find somebody to honor, give them a blue ribbon, then give them the extra blue ribbon so they can acknowledge a third person to keep this acknowledgment ceremony going. Then please report back to me and tell me what happened."
Later that day the junior executive went in to see his boss, who had been noted, by the way, as being kind of a grouchy fellow. He sat his boss down and he told him that he deeply admired him for being a creative genius.
The boss seemed very surprised. The junior executive asked him if he would accept the gift of the blue ribbon and would he give him permission to put it on him. His surprised boss said, "Well, sure." The junior executive took the blue ribbon and placed it right on his boss's jacket above his heart.
As he gave him the last extra ribbon, he said, "Would you do me a favor? Would you take this extra ribbon and pass it on by honoring somebody else? The young boy who first gave me the ribbons is doing a project in school and we want to keep this recognition ceremony going and find out how it affects people."
That night the boss came home to his 14-year-old son and sat him down. He said, "The most incredible thing happened to me today. I was in my office and one of the junior executives came in and told me he admired me and gave me a blue ribbon for being a creative genius. Imagine. He thinks I'm a creative genius. Then he put this blue ribbon that says: "Who I Am Makes a Difference, on my jacket above my heart. He gave me an extra ribbon and asked me to find somebody else to honor. As I was driving home tonight, I started thinking about whom I would honor with this ribbon and I thought about you.
I want to honor you. My days are really hectic and when I come home I don't pay a lot of attention to you. Sometimes I scream at you for not getting good enough
grades in school and for your bedroom being a mess, but somehow tonight, I just wanted to sit here and, well, just let you know that you do make a difference to me.
Besides your mother, you are the most important person in my life. You're a great kid and I love you!"
The startled boy started to sob and sob, and he couldn't stop crying. His whole body shook. He looked up at his father and said through his tears, "Dad, earlier tonight I sat in my room and wrote a letter to you and Mom explaining why I had killed myself and asking you to forgive me. I was going to commit suicide tonight after you were asleep. I just didn't think that you cared at all. The letter is upstairs.
I don't think I need it after all."
His father walked upstairs and found a heartfelt letter full of anguish and pain. The envelope was addressed, "Mom and Dad."
The boss went back to work a changed man. He was no longer a grouch but made sure to let all his employees know that they made a difference. The junior executive helped several other young people with career planning and never forgot to let them know that they made a difference in his life... one being the boss's son.
And the young boy and his classmates learned a valuable lesson. Who you are DOES make difference.
You are under no obligation to send this on to anyone...not to two people or to two hundred. As far as I am concerned, you can delete it and move on to the next message. But if, you have anyone who means a lot to you, I encourage you to send him or her this message and let them know. You never know what kind of difference a little encouragement can make to a person.
Send it to all of the people who mean anything important to you, or send it to the one, two, or three people who mean the most. Or just smile and know that someone thinks that you are important, or you wouldn't have received this in the first place. Remember that! I give you a blue ribbon.
WHO YOU ARE MAKES A DIFFERENCE,AND I WANTED YOU TO KNOW THAT!!

Rich son poor son
Three of the old parents were proud of their children's careers. However, these children did not have time for their parents. "They were very busy" each said. The last woman did not talk much of her son. Her son was not a high-flyer like the others. But her son has time for his mother. The other three women were in awe. They would prefer that their children spend time with them.

Design improved!
Referring back to our post months back, we are trying hard to enhance the website. That was a challenge towards the new Blogger's Layout editing. Back then, we could not spend more time on the interface.
Now, we have revamped the design with the whiteness to indicate our love for the neatness and cleanness, which significantly represents the beauty of our lives.
Do get back to us if you have any comment.

Family
F A M I L Y
I ran into a stranger as he passed by,
'Oh excuse me please' was my reply.
He said, 'Please excuse me too;
I wasn't watching for you.'
We were very polite, this stranger and I.
We went on our way and we said goodbye.
But at home a different story is told,
How we treat our loved ones, young and old..
Later that day, cooking the evening meal,
My son stood beside me very still.
When I turned, I nearly knocked him down..
'Move out of the way,' I said with a frown...
He walked away, his little heart broken.
I didn't realize how harshly I'd spoken.
While I lay awake in bed, God's still small voice came to me and said,
'While dealing with a stranger,
common courtesy you use,
but the family you love, you seem to abuse.
Go and look on the kitchen floor,
You'll find some flowers there by the door.
Those are the flowers he brought for you.
He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue.
He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise,
you never saw the tears that filled his little eyes.'
By this time, I felt very small,
And now my tears began to fall.
I quietly went and knelt by his bed;
'Wake up, little one, wake up,' I said...
'Are these the flowers you picked for me?'
He smiled, 'I found 'em, out by the tree.
I picked 'em because they're pretty like you.
I knew you'd like 'em, especially the blue.'
I said, 'Son, I'm very sorry for the way I acted today;
I shouldn't have yelled at you that way.'
He said, 'Oh, Mom, that's okay.
I love you anyway.'
I said, 'Son, I love you too,
and I do like the flowers, especially the blue....'
FAMILY
Are you aware that if we died tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days.
But the family we left behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.
And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than into our own family, an unwise investment indeed, don't you think?
So what is behind the story?
Do you know what the word FAMILY means?

Motivation for the Day
When I woke up in the morning lying in bed, I was asking myself:
What are some of the secrets of success in life?
I found the answer right there, in my very room.
The Fan said... Be cool.
The Roof said... Aim high
The Window said... See the world
The Clock said... Every minute is precious
The Mirror said... Reflect before you act
The Calendar... Be up-to-date
The Door said... Push hard for your goals
Carry a Heart that Never Hates.
Carry a Smile that Never Fades.
Carry a Touch that Never Hurts.

Children SEE, Children DO
Comments from Youtube users:
"it's true how these innocent souls follow us....and become one of us later for which we only complain about later........"
"Great commercial - I agree with the fact that everyone should set a good example, because no good kid wants to see their mom get beat up, and crap. These kids see and do, because they look up to the people who raised them. But they grow out of that and become independent. They become their own person, and they ARE their own person. So, whatever they see, whatever happens, their choices are their own, in the end."
"This goes for parents and famous people. The future does look up to you, so please make us want to do good. Because I'm 13 and I've realized I take after my parents ALOT. Its just natural, growing up with them.......and my parents aren't the best examples. Same with the famous people. I look up to them also and wanna be like them.. So parents and older people, please watch what you do and say. because you all are raising the future."
Disconnect to Connect - (dtac Thailand TVC)
This commercial video is one of the most meaningful videos ever.
In these days when technology is advanced and mobile phones are so affordable, people tend to put their focus on the talking and messaging (or perhaps, gaming as well) devices.
They have unintentionally neglected the people surrounding them.
Is this technology good or bad?
Apart from mobile phone, I personally think the internet has the same impact on everyone as well. Have you realised that sometimes you have resorted to using chat messenger to convey messages to your siblings as well, when they are just a few steps away in the other room?
What have gone wrong?
The ease to communication has somehow distant communication.
Disconnect to connect - this means to put down your mobile phone in order to communicate better with the one besides you. The person besides you probably needs more attention.
